| Planning
for the future of a
seriously ill or injured person requires that both the short
term and long term needs of the patient be addressed: My clients
are people - people who have suffered tragedy, and are now
rebuilding their lives.
Fortunately,
medical and rehabilitation advances can make this possible
in cases that previously had little hope. Unfortunately, the
cost of acute care, sub-acute care, rehabilitation care, nursing
care, and long-term care, is astronomical. It would be ideal
if insurance companies, the courts, and state and federal
governmental agencies, promptly determine whether you or your
loved one is entitled to benefits. Unfortunately, anyone who
has attempted to obtain benefits knows that "the wheels
of justice in the adminstration process turn very slowly".
Relying upon insurance companies, the courts, and state and
federal agencies to "do the right thing" often results
in frustration and delay for families.
Adequate "planning for the future"
for an individual who has a catastrophic injury or illness
requires immediate legal steps to protect a child or adults'
right to short term and long term benefits. Be vigilant! Don't
sleep on your rights! Get advice now!
