Special Education

Who is eligible for special education?
All children who are physically and/or mentally impaired, and who, because of their impairments, require special attention in order to learn, are eligible for special education benefits.

What benefits must a school district provide for a child who is receiving special education services?
Depending on the case, school districts must pay for transportation, specialized equipment, developmental services, speech pathology, audiology, psychological services, physical therapy, recreational therapy, and medical and counseling services.
