A child suffered anoxia from questionable etiology. The family had exhausted all the usual funding options. I reviewed the case and was able to access funding from the state Medicaid Waiver program for home nursing care. Health care professionals and advocates should have a "working knowledge" of the Medicaid Waiver programs and eligibility requirements in their state.
